Job summary

East Towne is hiring a Resident Transporter to safely transport residents to medical appointments, community activities, and other outings. You will assist residents with boarding and exiting vehicles, ensure comfort and safety, and maintain clean, well-maintained vehicles.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient interaction, adherence to safety protocols, and effective scheduling with staff to provide reliable transportation services for seniors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
• Previous experience in a transportation, healthcare, or customer service role (preferred).
• Ability to safely operate a passenger transport vehicle (training provided if necessary).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs, including wheelchairs and walkers.

Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, social outings, and other activities as directed.
• Resident Assistance: Provide assistance to residents during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure company vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained. Report any issues or concerns to management.
• Schedule Coordination: Work closely with staff and residents to ensure timely transportation scheduling and efficient route planning.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols to ensure a secure and positive travel experience for residents.
• Communication & Documentation: Maintain accurate transportation logs and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Customer Service: Engage with residents in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience during transportation.
