Job summary

Woodridge Assisted Living Facility in Monroe, NC seeks a compassionate Resident Transporter to transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and activities, ensuring safety and comfort.

You will assist residents with boarding, perform basic vehicle checks, coordinate schedules, and maintain logs while following safety protocols to provide a positive travel experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
• Previous experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service (preferred).
• Ability to safely operate a passenger transport vehicle (training provided).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs, including wheelchairs and walkers.

Responsibilities

• Safe transportation of residents to medical appointments, social outings, and activities.
• Assist residents during boarding and exiting vehicles to ensure safety and comfort.
• Maintain and report on vehicle cleanliness, fueling, and maintenance.
• Coordinate scheduling with staff and residents for timely transportation and routes.
• Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols.
• Maintain transportation logs and report incidents to staff.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service to residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safe Transportation: Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, social outings, and other activities as directed.
• Resident Assistance: Provide assistance to residents during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure company vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained. Report any issues or concerns to management.
• Schedule Coordination: Work closely with staff and residents to ensure timely transportation scheduling and efficient route planning.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols to ensure a secure and positive travel experience for residents.
• Communication & Documentation: Maintain accurate transportation logs and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Customer Service: Engage with residents in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience during transportation.
