Job summary

Atria Senior Living, Inc. in Foster City, CA is seeking an experienced transportation driver to safely transport residents to social and other destinations according to a scheduled plan. You will assist residents entering and leaving the vehicle and ensure wheelchairs are secured for trips.

You will also perform routine vehicle maintenance and report repairs as needed. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a CDL, and at least five years of driving experience with preventive maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of driving experience and knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance programs.
• Commercial driver's license required to operate commercial size vehicles.
• Able to operate a seven to sixteen passenger bus, limousine or car and related equipment.
• Experienced with vehicle emergency repairs and basic on-road maintenance.
• Knowledge of streets within an 8-mile radius of the community.
• Position requires driving responsibilities and potential use of company or personal vehicle.
• Must meet Atria Motor Vehicle Record Policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicle from community to social and other destinations per schedule.
• Assist residents into and out of vehicle safely.
• Secure wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize during trips.
• Practice safe driving techniques at all times.
• Clean and service vehicle and report maintenance repairs.
• Establish and monitor trip inspection and maintenance programs and recordkeeping.
• Deliver groceries and belongings to residents' apartments.
• Support Engage Life Department activities as needed.
• Submit charges to the business office daily for travel expenses.
• Maintain a safe driving record per company guidelines.
• Handle emergencies and basic First Aid.
• Report unsafe conditions to the Executive Director.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
