Job summary

Mercy Home for Children seeks an Assistant Residence Manager for its OPWDD certified residential program in New York. The role reports to the Residential Manager and collaborates with families, care managers, clinicians, and staff to ensure services align with policies and the agency's core values.

The position involves staff scheduling, onboarding, coaching, and ensuring compliance with training and union contracts.

Qualifications

• AMAP, CPR, SCIP-R, and First Aid preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of experience working with the developmentally disabled population is required.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• College degree in Human Service, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise staff work schedules to ensure adequate staffing for each shift.
• Orient new staff to the program, routines, individuals, policies, and procedures.
• Coach and supervise direct support staff to optimize service quality and staff retention.
• Observe interactions between individuals and staff and provide feedback.
• Review documentation and logs and follow up accordingly.
• Ensure training compliance and orientation of all staff.
• Report incidents, occurrences, and accidents in a timely manner.
• Plan and evaluate recreation and leisure activities with staff and individuals.
• Maintain rapport with families and day programs attended by individuals.
