Cherokee Federal is hiring a City Sanctuary Facility Residential Aide in New York, NY. The role involves welcoming families, processing admissions, shift coordination, and ensuring safety and security of the lobby and surrounding areas.

You will work with security and custodial staff and support daily operations within a climate-controlled facility. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years in housing or shelter settings, direct client service experience, and bilingual

Qualifications

• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English required.
• Direct client services experience preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Document all families, staff and visitors entering and exiting the facility; complete census forms, report incidents, and log events.
• Facilitate resident admissions and move outs.
• Generate nightly rosters and file shift documentation.
• Provide a professional greeting to visitors and callers.
• Ensure lobby/front area is kept clear and secure.
• Assist with fire drills and emergency evacuations.
• Support custodial and security staff with facility maintenance and security.
• Distribute mail to families.
• Assist with room checks and hourly rounds.
• Support food distribution and programmatic needs as directed.
