Mercy Housing is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator I to establish partnerships and bring services to residents of Terraces at Parkview in Lithonia, GA. You will connect residents to resources, collaborate with property staff, and lead after-school programs for youth on-site.

The role is on-site, Monday–Friday, with responsibilities that include data collection, program outcome measurement, and supporting resident stability through community engagement.

Mercy Housing is the largest nonprofit affordable housing provider in the nation. We build, preserve, and manage program-enriched housing across the country.

Resident Services Coordinator I (RSC I) will establish and maintain community partnerships; bringing needed services to the property while collecting and recording data to measure program outcomes.

In this role, you will work with residents to connect them with resources, and collaborate with other property staff to ensure resident stability. You will work with adult residents and lead the after-school program for youth at the property.

This is an on-site, Monday-Friday position.

Pay: $21-$22.70/hour

Location: Terraces at Parkview, a 90-unit affordable housing community for low-income families and individuals | Lithonia, GA

What You’ll Do

About 60% of your time will be spent at a desk, with the other 40% spent on community outreach. This role involves walking around the property/climbing stairs, setting up for activities, and occasionally lifting boxes up to 40 pounds.

Duties

• Evaluate outcomes of programs and services delivered on a regular basis as required.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of residents (conduct needs assessments, community meetings, etc.) in order to be able to offer residents the opportunity to assist their community and to guide them towards appropriate services and resources.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of resources (employment, education, social service agencies etc.) available in the community for residents’ benefit.
• Lead after school programming for school-aged youth at the property, hire contractors and/or volunteers to assist.
• Participate in and/or lead activities within Mercy Housing and in collaboration with partner agencies that build professional capacity and enhance working relationships.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations and individuals, with an emphasis on providing on-site services to residents and the community.
• Participate in the annual property and/or grant budget process and maintain accurate recording and tracking or related expenditures
• Collect information and document incidents that could potentially need follow-up by property staff and/or residents involved.
• Actively collaborate with Resource Development staff and other Resident Services staff to share information and implement fundraising plans.
• Manage volunteers.

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience in community development, social services, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Experience conducting community assessments, applying the principles of conflict management, and organizing community groups, events, or programs.
• Experience working with school-aged children.

Knowledge And Skills

• Work collaboratively with others in a team environment, respecting and valuing the perspectives and contributions of others.
• Demonstrate a high level of verbal, writing, and listening skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Maintain confidentiality and to obtain appropriate release of information as necessary.
• Able to work with people with mental health, disability, substance abuse, legal, and financial issues.
