Upward Bound House in Los Angeles is seeking a part-time Resident Monitor to maintain safety and provide foundational community support for families experiencing housing crises. You will monitor the site, enforce living guidelines, and respond to resident needs with calm professionalism.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to log daily activities, and a willingness to work weekend night shifts in a fast-paced, supportive environment dedicated to ending family homelessness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework a plus.
• Experience in a residential facility, emergency shelter, or social services is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Able to assist with light facility cleaning and basic organizational tasks.
• Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.

Responsabilités

• Monitor site safety and manage entry/exit logs to ensure only authorized individuals access the facility.
• Assist families with navigating living guidelines, curfews, and shared-space upkeep.
• Respond to resident needs and crises with calm, professional de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain detailed daily shift logs and incident reports; participate in shift handovers.
• Interact with residents, guests, and staff with respect and cultural sensitivity.
• Work weekends: 4:00 PM–12:30 AM or 12:00 AM–8:30 AM.
