Qualifications

• Graduate of approved vocational technical Health Unit Coordinator course.
• Dependable and responsible, able to organize and execute delegated tasks.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and medical terminology.
• Readable and articulate with good spelling and clear self-expression.
• Patience and tact when dealing with residents, families and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate resident medical records per Federal and State regulations and facility policy.
• Transcribes physician orders and updates computerized records; prints records as needed.
• Manages resident schedules for ancillary services and physician visits; coordinates transportation.
• Maintains current DNR list and coordinates hearing aid program; ensures proper documentation.
