Job summary

The Salvation Army A Georgia Corp in Tampa, FL seeks a lodge/shelter security staff to manage resident check-ins, monitor safety, and maintain HMIS records. The role requires attentiveness to behavioral expectations and adherence to security protocols in a 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. shift from Thursday to Sunday.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, English language proficiency, and at least one year of security or social work experience. A level 2 background screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Check clients in to lodge/shelter and maintain records in HMIS.
• Prepare rosters and monitor residents' property logs.
• Ensure rooms are orderly and fire safety equipment is functional.
• Monitor residents for safety and behavior; secure windows/doors and review cameras.
• Document any incidents on shift and respond to emergencies.

Schedule/Hours: 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. Thursday - SundayThis position is responsible for:Accepts and processes residents into HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) in order for them to stay in lodge/shelter overnight; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to behavioral expectations; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that lodge/shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order.Key Responsibilities:Checks clients in to the lodge/shelter; prepares and monitors client records using HMIS (Homeless Management Information System); prepares roster daily and maintains residents’ property recordsEnsures that all rooms are in proper order before the arrival or residents; checks fire equipment and ensures proper working orderMonitors the activities of the program residents ensuring safety and compliance with behavioral expectations; checks the security of all windows and doors; monitors cameras and make periodic rounds of the entire facility; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
