Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Resident Monitor in the Sarasota, FL area to register clients, monitor guest activities, and help maintain a safe, orderly environment in the lodge/shelter facility. The role supports Housing First and Low Barrier approaches during daily duties and interactions with staff and clients.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for one year of security or social service experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• AND one year experience performing security or social service work preferred,
• OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the activities of the lodge/shelter residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rules; checks security of all windows and doors; monitors cameras and make periodic rounds of entire facility; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift.
• Respond to emergencies in a calm manner and initiate appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists with all verbal and physical aggression that might occur from guests.
• Assist with laundry duties as assigned.
• Maintain guest refrigerated medication within the rotunda and provide first aid items to clients when needed to address basic first aid care.
• Promote and adhere to the Housing First and Low Barrier models when performing duties or interacting with internal/external staff, partners, and clients.

The Resident Monitor's primary duties include welcoming and registering clients into the lodge/shelter facility, monitoring guest activities during an assigned shift, and helping maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment while ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 35 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
