Eskaton seeks dedicated caregivers to provide compassionate companion care to residents in a nonprofit aging-focused community in Northern California. You will assist with daily living activities, hygiene, meal help, and coordination of medical appointments, while promoting independence and safety per the resident’s care plan.

Starting pay ranges from $21.65 - $27.32 per hour. This AM shift runs 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Sunday to Thursday, with a strong emphasis on empathy, teamwork, and adherence to

Competenze

• Education: High school graduate or GED preferred; 8 hours approved medication administration training and passing grade of 85% or better on exam; 4 hours continuing education on medication administration annually.
• Two years' experience in a long-term care or assisted living setting preferred.
• All staff providing direct care will have current first aid training and CPR certification.
• Thorough knowledge of medications commonly prescribed to the elderly and ability to implement policies and procedures in assisting with medication dispensing; RCFE regulations knowledge.

• Provides companion care including reading, visiting, answering personal correspondence, assisting with bill paying or other tasks per resident’s plan of care.
• Provides or assists in bathing or showering for resident cleanliness and hygiene.
• Makes beds, keeps resident care area organized.
• Assists residents in dressing and respects privacy.
• May prepare light meals as directed by the resident’s plan of care.
• Assists residents to schedule medical appointments and may accompany to appointments.
• Promotes independence in resident care and safety awareness for resident and self.
• Assists with simple range of motion or exercises and supports fitness activities per care plan.
• Applies medical or adaptive devices as ordered; assists with medication self-administration after training.
• Collects specimens as directed by care coordinators or wellness nurse.
• May deliver meal trays or assist dining room.
• Assists with personal laundry including dry cleaning.
• Follows Eskaton emergency protocols and policies.
• Completes weights and vital signs per plan of care.
• Provides respite services for spouses/family.
• Assists with activities as instructed by activity director/ coordinators.
