Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.
• Six (6) months experience in providing personal care in a residential or long term care setting preferred.
• Valid/current first aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides companion care including reading, visiting, and assisting with resident’s plan of care.
• Provides or assists in bathing or showering for cleanliness and hygiene of resident.
• Makes beds, straightens rooms, and keeps resident care area organized.
• Assists residents in dressing while respecting privacy and independence.
• Promotes appropriate levels of independence and safety in resident care.
• Assists resident with simple range of motion or exercises and ambulates as directed.
• Applies medical or adaptive devices as ordered by physician or nurse.
• Collects specimens as directed by the Resident Care Coordinator.
• Follows Eskaton emergency protocol and policies.
• Models Eskaton values and complies with HIPAA and safety guidelines.
