Job summary

Eastern Health Group in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook resident meals following prescribed diets and facility procedures. You will ensure meal quality, safety, and timely service under the supervision of the Dietary Director.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook resident meals in quantities according to menu and number of persons served.
• Prepare meals according to proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization and yield of meats and other foods.
• Clean work area and equipment according to sanitation requirements.
• T aste, smell, and observe all foods to ensure proper recipes and appealing presentation.
• Serve food according to dietary guidelines and check trays for accuracy.
• Monitor portions to prevent waste and prepare foods for events as directed.
