Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Rockford, IL is seeking a dedicated program manager for the 2nd shift. You will help maintain program integrity, supervise beneficiary activities, and ensure safety and compliance across daily operations.

This full-time role requires willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, with pay at $15.00 per hour and benefits including health coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous managerial experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required to qualify for Salvation Army insurance.

Responsibilities

• Enforce house rules and maintain center security.
• Conduct beneficiary orientations and facility tours.
• Lead weekly house meetings and supervise medication calls.
• Respond to beneficiary inquiries and emergencies.
• Complete incident reports and Safe From Harm documentation.
• Maintain daily reports and electronic data entries.
• Document program violations and incidents.
• Support center policies and ensure program compliance.

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. Working on 2nd shift, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the integrity, philosophy, and standards of our effective rehabilitation program. This role is crucial in ensuring program compliance while supporting our beneficiaries’ recovery journey .

What You’ll Do

Program Management

• Enforce house rules and maintain overall center security
• Conduct new beneficiary orientations including facility tours
• Lead weekly house meetings
• Supervise medication calls and ensure proper documentation
• Respond to beneficiary inquiries and emergencies
• Complete incident reports and Safe From Harm documentation

Beneficiary Support

• Implement and coordinate leisure time activities
• Provide safe transportation when needed
• Assist in resolving beneficiary problems
• Train and supervise work therapy assignments
• Assess and refer spiritual needs to Chaplain/Administrator
• Administer drug and alcohol screening tests as required

Administrative Duties

• Maintain daily reports and electronic data entries
• Document program violations and incidents
• Support center policies and procedures
• Monitor and ensure program compliance

Additional Information

Qualification-

Required

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Previous managerial experience preferred
• Valid Driver’s License with ability to qualify for Salvation Army insurance
