Job summary

Aperion Care is seeking an Activity Assistant/Aide to support planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational and social programs for residents in our Illinois facility.

Responsibilities include coordinating activities, observing resident participation, and collaborating with other departments to ensure a warm, engaging environment while following established care plans and confidentiality guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs & quality assurance for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement to evaluate progress and document results.
• Develop & maintain good rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly.
• Prepare activity rooms/areas for scheduled programs and suggest equipment/supply needs.
• Assist in cleaning up activity areas after events and follow care plans in providing daily activities.
