Job summary

Aperion Care in Kokomo, IN is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan, implement and evaluate recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs for residents in line with care plans and supervision.

You will coordinate with other departments, prepare activity spaces, observe resident engagement, document progress, and support residents with crafts and outings while maintaining dignity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm when interacting with residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior and involvement; record and report progress in charts.
• Prepare activity rooms and supply needs; maintain a warm, calm facility atmosphere.
• Assist residents with crafts and tasks; accompany residents during activities as needed.
• Ensure confidentiality and resident dignity; cooperate with other departments.
