Job summary

Aperion Care Evansville is seeking an Activity Assistant/Aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs for residents.

You will support the activities department under supervision, observe participation, coordinate with other departments, and help maintain resident progress notes while following care plans and preserving resident dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Patience, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm when interacting with residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs for the facility.
• Observe resident attendance, mood and involvement; document progress and resident response.
• Maintain rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly.
• Prepare activity rooms and supervise residents during activities.
• Follow care plans and assist with purchases for residents as needed.
