Job summary

FutureCare Health seeks an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in developing and implementing the facility's activity program, promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being for residents.

The role includes planning monthly calendars, coordinating with volunteers, and documenting participation while ensuring a compassionate, engaging environment for seniors and LYFE participants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly or disabled.
• Arts/crafts or music experience highly desirable.
• Ability to handle emotional and behavioral disturbance.
• Patient and vivacious in interactions with residents.
• Weekend, holiday and evening availability as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activity programs to improve quality of life.
• Make daily announcements for RO, information, weather, and birthdays.
• Support sensory needs of bedridden residents and LYFE participants.
• Help plan monthly activity calendar and propose future ideas.
• Communicate with Activities Director about resident behavior.
• Work with volunteers during activities and supervise them.
• Document attendance and complete participation records.
• Attend care plan meetings as assigned.
• Document inventory of supplies and assist with outings.
• Coordinate with community representatives visiting the facility.
