Job summary

FutureCare is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in developing and implementing the facility's activity program. You will help provide entertainment, socialization, exercise, and opportunities for creative and religious expression for residents.

The role involves coordinating daily activity programs, assisting with announcements, and collaborating with volunteers and staff to ensure engaging resident experiences. Weekend/evening shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly or disabled.
• Previous experience in arts/crafts and/or music highly desirable.
• Ability to handle emotional and behavioral disturbance.
• Ability to be vivacious and patient in interactions with residents.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activity programs to improve quality of life through physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
• Make daily announcements for R.O., information, weather, residents’/staff birthdays, etc.
• Fulfill sensory needs of bedridden residents and LYFE participants.
• Plan monthly activity calendar and suggest future ideas.
• Communicate with Activities Director about daily problems and resident behavior.
