Job summary

Vivo Healthcare in Florida seeks an Activities Director to lead and continually improve the resident activities program, aligning it to social, psychosocial and therapeutic needs. You will oversee assessments, care plans, and staff coordination.

This role requires scheduling seven days a week, offering cognitive, recreational, and ADL activities, and managing safety, transportation, and volunteer programs while ensuring residents’ rights are protected.

Responsibilities

• Direct the development, implementation, supervision and ongoing evaluation of the activities program.
• Ensure activities meet the social, psychosocial and therapeutic needs of residents.
• Complete and direct the activities component of the comprehensive assessment.
• Contribute to care plan goals aligned with residents' skills and interests.
• Schedule activities, including individual and group sessions, seven days a week.
• Offer at least one cognitive activity, two recreational activities and three ADL activities daily per resident.
• Oversee transportation of residents to activities inside and outside the facility.
• Ensure resident safety during activities and secure any hazardous items.
• Oversee the establishment and documentation of the Resident Council meetings.
• Perform administrative duties: policies, staff assignments, evaluations and staff in-service training.
• Oversee the volunteer program to protect residents' rights.
