Job summary

Vivo Healthcare seeks an energetic Activity Assistant to join Gateway Post-Acute and Rehab in Pinellas Park, FL. This full-time role focuses on enriching residents' lives through engaging activities and collaborative programs with the Activities Director.

You will recruit volunteers, maintain records, and foster relationships with residents, families, and staff while staying current with best practices in elder care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Recreation Therapy, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Compassion, empathy, and a passion for providing exceptional care to individuals with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement activities that cater to the interests and abilities of residents, promoting socialization, physical and mental well-being, and overall enjoyment.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement activity programs, including events, outings, and recreational activities.
• Recruit and supervise volunteers, interns, and students to assist with activities and events.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, resident participation, and supplies.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service education to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
