Job summary

Award Care in Florida is seeking a qualified Activity Director to join our family-oriented nursing home. This full-time role, usually Monday–Friday with weekend duties as needed, leads the Activity Department to support residents’ physical, mental, and social wellbeing.

The director will plan, organize, develop, and direct activities in compliance with standards and facility policies, building a positive culture and coordinating with staff, residents, and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or equivalent training/experience.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in therapeutic recreation; supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to assess residents' therapeutic recreation needs and develop programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee a continuous activity program aligned with residents' needs.
• Assess each resident's recreational needs and document findings.
• Develop and implement therapeutic recreation plans addressing wellbeing.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise recreation staff; manage budget adherence.
• Promote programs in the community and coordinate outside activities.
• Develop and supervise volunteer program.
