Job summary

IntersectHC is seeking a Laundry Aide to sort, wash, dry, and deliver linens within a resident care setting. You will operate laundry machinery, monitor cycles, and ensure linen quality while maintaining infection control standards.

The role includes potential cross-training in housekeeping and requires effective communication with residents and staff, reliable attendance, and adherence to HIPAA and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Previous laundry experience in industrial or commercial setting beneficial.
• Must have knowledge of laundry machines and chemical cleaning solutions.
• Must be able to complete two loads of laundry per hour.
• Communicate effectively with elderly or disabled residents, other employees, and visitors.
• Dependable and work independently as well as under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sort soiled laundry and presoak as required.
• Load washers with items, select cycles and water temperature.
• Load dryers and set drying temperature, time, and cycle.
• Sort and fold clean laundry for storage or distribution.
• Deliver resident laundry to rooms and check for repairs.
• Follow Infection Control procedures for laundering isolation linens.
• Wash drapes and privacy curtains as scheduled.
• Escort soiled carts to holding area.
• Perform routine cleaning of laundry area per schedule.
• Use equipment and supplies safely to avoid injury.
• Maintain personal hygiene and uniform compliance.
• Attend staff meetings and report equipment concerns.
