Job summary

IntersectHC is seeking a part-time 2nd shift laundry worker to collect, sort, launder, fold, and distribute linens for residents in a healthcare setting. The role involves operating laundry machines, monitoring cycles, and maintaining infection control standards while communicating professionally with residents and team members.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prior laundry experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laundry machines and chemical cleaning solutions.
• Ability to complete two loads per hour.
• Clear communication with elderly or disabled residents, colleagues, and visitors.
• Dependable; able to work independently as well as under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sort soiled laundry and presoak as required.
• Load items into washers and set cycles and temperatures; add appropriate cleaning chemicals.
• Dry and handle damp linens; load into dryers and select proper time and temperature.
• Sort and fold clean laundry; place in storage or distribute to linen carts.
• Deliver resident personal laundry using linen carts; inspect items for repairs or replacements.
• Follow infection control procedures for laundering isolation linens and clothing.
• Wash drapes and privacy curtains as scheduled.
• Escort soiled linen carts to the solid linen holding area.
• Perform cleaning tasks in the laundry department on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual schedules.
