Job summary

Intersect Healthcare of Jackson is seeking a Laundry Aide to sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens for residents. The role involves handling soiled and clean laundry, operating machines, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Previous laundry experience in industrial or commercial setting beneficial.
• Must have knowledge of laundry machines and chemical cleaning solutions.
• Must be able to complete two loads of laundry per hour.
• Communicate effectively with elderly or disabled residents, other employees, and visitors.
• Dependable and work independently as well as under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sort soiled laundry and presoak as required.
• Load items into washers, select cycles and temperatures, add chemicals as needed.
• Load dried linens and set appropriate drying parameters.
• Sort and fold clean laundry for storage or distribution to linen carts.
• Deliver personal resident laundry to rooms and check repairs/replacements.
• Follow Infection Control procedures for laundering isolation items.
• Wash drapes and privacy curtains as scheduled.
• Escort soiled linen carts to the linen holding area.
• Perform regular cleaning of laundry area and equipment per schedule.
• Use equipment safely and maintain personal hygiene and uniform standards.
• Attend staff meetings and keep supervisor informed of issues.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA; adhere to patient rights.
