Job summary

AA Healthcare Management is seeking a Laundry Aide to perform daily laundering of the facility’s soiled linen and to launder resident personal laundry when appropriate.

Responsibilities include sorting laundry per infection control procedures, operating washers/dryers, labeling, folding, and ironing, while maintaining safety and privacy for guests. You will assist with training, respond to call lights, and participate in departmental meetings as directed.

Qualifications

• Reading and writing in English is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Sorts soiled laundry in accordance with established infection control procedures.
• Loads and unloads laundry into and out of washing and drying machines using laundry chemicals and monitors machines while in use.
• Sorts, labels, folds, mends, counts and irons clean laundry.
• Maintains infection control and standard precaution practices at all times and follows safety precautions when using equipment.
• Reports hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of guests and interacts warmly and respectfully.
• Answers call lights promptly and courteously in guest care areas.
• Assists with training of new staff.
• Communicates effectively with guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attends departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
