Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Dining Services Associate to join our team on a PRN basis. Shifts may vary, with an emphasis on preparing and serving meals to residents in a safe, sanitary environment.

Open Interviews occur every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 440 N Lynnhaven Road, Va Beach. Candidates should have a Food Handlers Certification, food service experience, and be able to work varied shifts including weekends. A friendly, resident-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances throughout the day.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Follow HACCP and WHMIS guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment with proper hand washing and cleaning.
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals respectfully to residents with special needs.
• Operate and clean department equipment per schedules.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear dishes.
• Receive and store stock following procedures.
• Follow cleaning procedures when power is unavailable.
• Assist Dining Services Director with other duties as needed.
• Support a culture that reflects Commonwealth Senior Living values.
