Job summary

Optalis Healthcare is seeking an Activities Staff member to assist in planning, organizing, developing and directing the activities department to meet the emotional, social, physical, and therapeutic needs of residents. You will support ambulatory, non-ambulatory and bed-bound residents and help ensure activities align with care plans.

You will record participation, follow policies, arrange community outings and distribute calendars or newsletters, preparing rooms and encouraging participation

Responsibilities

• assist with activities functions to ensure activities for ambulatory, non-ambulatory and bed-bound residents/customers
• record activity programs and participation of individual residents and identifying progress toward established care plan goals
• follow written activities policies and procedures
• assist with community trips/outings
• distribute monthly calendar of events and/or monthly newsletter
• prepare room prior to each activity and clean up after activity completed
• encourage participation, transport residents/customers to/from activity
