Job summary

Optalis Healthcare is seeking an Activity Aide to support planning, execution, and assessment of engaging recreational programs for residents in a long-term care setting. You will work under the guidance of the Activity Director to tailor activities to residents' needs and interests, promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities include coordinating group and individual activities, preparing spaces, documenting participation, and assisting with supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with older adults or in a long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Activity Director to plan, implement, and evaluate recreational activities.
• Encourage and assist residents in participating in group and individual activities.
• Prepare activity spaces, including setup and cleanup.
• Support the coordination and execution of special events and outings.
• Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and engagement.
• Assist with the care and upkeep of activity supplies and equipment.
• Conduct one-on-one visits with residents unable to join group activities.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of activity programming.
• Attend mandatory in-service training sessions and staff meetings.
