Job summary

Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) seeks a compassionate Resident Engagement Specialist to connect residents with essential resources, support housing stability, and coordinate programs that promote health, wellness, and community engagement. You will provide holistic case management and build partnerships with local service providers.

The role requires trauma-informed practices, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or relevant discipline; MSW preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of case management experience.
• Cross-cultural competency and commitment to racial justice.
• Baseline knowledge of trauma and trauma-informed practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
• Adaptability to changing priorities. Strong organizational skills in communications, program planning, data collection, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; database experience preferred.
• Spanish, Amharic, or other relevant second language fluency is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Connect residents with community resources and services.
• Coordinate and implement social, health, education, and community-building programs.
• Provide holistic, trauma-informed case management.
• Focus on eviction prevention and housing stability.
• Identify resident needs and strengths; tailor workshops and programs.
• Maintain positive communication with residents and partners.
• Supervise coordinators and volunteers; document all work.
• Submit required paperwork and monitoring reports to HUD.
