Job summary

Douglas County Health Center is seeking a kitchen/food service worker to assemble resident trays, deliver meal carts, and support daily dining room operations. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of food service or customer service experience, with a food handler certification due within 30 days of hire.

Position is full-time, on-site in Omaha, with standard day shifts; candidates must pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six (6) months of experience in food service or customer service required.
• Age 16 years or older required.
• Food Handler Serve Clean Certification obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained every 2 years throughout employment.
• Pre-employment criminal record check, physical assessment and conditional offer drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble resident/patient trays with pre-made foods and beverages and verify tray accuracy.
• Deliver tray cart to dining rooms and retrieve on schedule.
• Assemble and deliver late trays and special orders; rotate items and label perishable goods.
• Document temperatures of dish machines and refrigerators and other monitors.
• Restock supplies and prepare the work area for the next meal; clean and sanitize areas.
