Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living is seeking a dining services worker to serve meals to residents, maintain dining room presentation, and support cross-trained roles as needed. You will greet residents, take orders, deliver meals, and assist with opening packages while ensuring safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

The role emphasizes clear communication with residents and staff, handling multiple duties in a busy environment, and teamwork to provide excellent service during both dining and events.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform serving duties, including carrying meal trays, following Hawthorn standards and current guidelines.
• Ability to communicate, in a clear and concise manner with residents during meal service.
• Ability to present meal alternatives to residents and guests.
• Have a general knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Regular, on-site attendance and punctuality is required as scheduled.
• Maintains current knowledge of the Hawthorn Senior Living Employee Handbook.
• Adheres to all Company policies, procedures and standards.
• Cleans dining room according to Hawthorn guidelines and schedule (vacuuming, spot cleaning, dusting, cleaning windows, mopping).
• Serving duties: greet residents, take orders, deliver to kitchen, serve beverages and meals, assist with opening packages, deliver trays, bus and reset tables.
