Job summary

Edward Rose & Sons, Kalamazoo Regional Office in Portage, MI seeks a Customer Collection Associate to contact former residents and collect overdue payments. You will coordinate with creditors and manage delinquent accounts using Yardi and MS Office tools.

The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to work under deadlines while providing solid customer service and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.
• Experience in Leasing and/or Property Management is a plus.
• Proficient with computer software, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
• Yardi experience is a plus.
• Ability to handle confidential material.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with close attention to detail.
• Ability to work under stressful deadlines and adapt to change.
• Willing to travel to various locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage collection files from point of receipt through the past due letter series.
• Refer files to a third-party collection agency.
• Ensure the Yardi database displays the correct status and has detailed notes of communications.
• Process all payments made by former residents and third-party collections.
• Post monthly write-offs.
• Print monthly pay plan statements and close out files when paid or settled.
• Contact delinquent former residents to discuss pay plans.
• Work toward delinquency solutions with proper settlement authority and dispute resolution.
