Edward Rose & Sons in Kalamazoo area is seeking a Customer Collection Associate to contact former residents, manage overdue accounts, and coordinate with creditors to secure payments.

The role requires a high school diploma (some college preferred), prior customer service experience, strong written and verbal communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; Yardi experience a plus. Must be detail-oriented and able to handle confidential information.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage collection files from receipt through the past due letter series.
• Refer files to a third-party collection agency.
• Ensure the Yardi database shows correct status and notes of communications.
• Process all payments from former residents and those from third-party agencies.
• Post monthly write offs.
• Print monthly pay plan statements and close paid/settled files.
• Contact delinquent former residents to discuss pay plans.
• Achieve delinquency resolutions using approved settlement authority.

The Customer Collection Associate is responsible for corresponding with former residents to collect payment for overdue bills, loans, or other payments. Facilitating communication between creditors and former residents to manage overdue accounts.

What are the responsibilities of a Customer Collection Associate?

• Manage collection files from point of receipt through the past due letter series.
• Refer files to a third-party collection agency.
• Ensure the Yardi database displays the correct status for the file and has detailed notes of any written or verbal communication with the former resident.
• Process all payments made by former residents as well as those issued by a third-party collection agency.
• Post monthly write offs.
• Print monthly pay plan statements and close out files that were paid in full or settled.
• Contact former residents who have been delinquent on their pay plan agreements.
• Achieve successful delinquency solutions by utilizing proper settlement authority and dispute resolution.

What are the role requirements?

• High School diploma or equivalent and some college is preferred.
• Previous experience working in customer service is preferred.
• Previous experience in Leasing and/or Property Management is a plus.
• Must be proficient with the use of computer software, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
• Yardi software experience is a plus.
• Ability to handle confidential material.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Must possess exceptional organizational and time-management skills, along with close attention to detail.
• Must present the ability to execute job duties under stressful circumstances, such as last-minute deadlines or other difficult situations.
• Open to change and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Must be willing to travel to various locations via private or public transportation.
• Regular attendance, work ethic and strong interpersonal skills are required for success in this position.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
