Job summary

(Jourdanton Nursing and Rehabilitation) LSSH Jourdanton, LLC is seeking a Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to support the Occupational Therapist with direct resident care. Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient with Net Health and Point Click Care data entry.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures.
• Ability to read and understand policy and procedure manuals.
• Effective presentation of information to managers, coworkers and families.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
• Ability to interpret diverse written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in treating residents as directed.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with facility, government, and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings as needed.
• Assist nursing with training Restorative Aides.
• Communicate progress and discharge plans to physicians, nursing staff, and families.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff as needed.
• Educate residents and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, and safety techniques.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering of durable medical equipment to support ADLs.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and facility information.
• Report equipment problems and contribute to QA initiatives.
• Relate positively with residents, families, staff and colleagues.
