Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a Habilitation Aide to implement program services and support residents in personal hygiene and ADL skills, fostering independence. Training and coaching residents, you’ll use instructional methods tailored to each individual’s goals and needs to advance functioning.

Responsibilities include following care plans, collaborating with the team, and ensuring safety during activities and transportation to appointments.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• CNA course and competency exam completion per Illinois DoH required OR Direct Support Professional training with Registry listing.
• Current CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English clearly.
• Ability to work well in a resident-centered team.
• Personable, enthusiastic, patient and adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide care per the client’s individual program plan.
• Follow departmental policies and dress code.
• Report concerns to Administrator.
• Assist with lifting, turning, positioning, and transporting clients.
• Observe and report changes in health status to nurse.
• Encourage self-care and development of independence.
• Train/coach residents in dressing and communication.
• Participate in staff meetings and routine duties.
