Job summary

JGS – Ruth's House in Longmeadow, MA seeks a dedicated Resident Care Assistant to support residents with daily living activities under the supervision of licensed staff.

The role involves assisting with bathing, dressing, mobility, monitoring vital signs, and promoting dignity and independence, with opportunities for full-time, part-time, or PRN shifts.

Qualified candidates hold MA HHA or CNA certification, communicate in English, and join a team that values care quality and resident well-being.

• Must hold MA Home Health Aide (HHA) or CNA certification in good standing.
• Strong communication in English – verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, promoting dignity and independence.
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and report changes to nursing staff promptly.
• Provide basic patient care under supervision of licensed nurses, including repositioning, transferring, and mobility assistance to prevent falls and pressure injuries.
• Support residents' quality of life by fostering a positive, respectful environment and encouraging engagement in meaningful daily activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment following infection control protocols and responding to call lights.

$18.00 - $21.00/hour, based on experience

Delivering Solutions that Matter:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, while promoting dignity and independence.
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental condition to the nursing staff promptly.
• Provide basic patient care under the direction of licensed nurses, including repositioning, transferring, and assisting with mobility to prevent falls and pressure injuries.
• Support residents' quality of life by fostering a positive, respectful environment and encouraging engagement in meaningful daily activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment by following infection control protocols, responding to call lights, and ensuring residents' comfort and safety throughout the shift.

Qualifications for Success:

• Must have a Home Health Aide certification (HHA) or Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing with the MA state registry.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written
