Job summary

Brethren Care Village in Ohio is seeking a CNA for Assisted Living to provide compassionate, resident-centered care across day, evening and night shifts. You will assist with activities of daily living, promote safety, and support residents’ dignity in a Christian-based senior living community.

This full-time/part-time role offers pay from $15 to $16.80 per hour, plus shift differentials: evenings +$0.75, nights +$0.50, weekends +$1.00. Onsite presence is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills are preferred.
• Onsite presence required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) including dressing, bathing, mobility, dining, and toileting.
• Provides laundry services and handles bed/bath linens.
• Monitors resident health and safety; reports changes to manager.
• Encourages participation in scheduled activities and assists as needed.
• Responds to emergencies and attends required inservices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements for a CNA - Assisted Living:

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills are preferred.
• Onsite presence required.

What You'll Do as a CNA - Assisted Living:

• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's):
  • Dressing/undressing: ensures that clothes are clean, appropriate in season, and presentable.
  • Bathing: provides assistance with personal hygiene (i.e. shaving, dental hygiene, nail care, hair care, etc.).
  • Mobility: uses various devices that enable resident to ambulate independently (i.e. cane, walker, wheelchair, crutch, etc.).
  • Dining: meal time reminders, sets up and cleans tables as needed, transports food from buffet to table, waits tables as needed, room service as needed.
  • Toileting: assists in transfer and dressing, assists in applying incontinence devices.
• Laundry services: delivers and picks up bed/bath linen; personal laundry possible. Will come in contact with a variety of laundry chemicals
• Health maintenance/monitoring: observes and reports physical/mental changes to Manager or designated nursing staff; conducts room checks and resident rounds; monitors for safety hazards; reports resident related incidents/accidents.
• Activity Program: encourages and reminds resident of scheduled programs. Assists with activities as needed.
• Emergency Preparedness: responds to and acts appropriately in emergency/disaster situations or drillsAttends mandatory inservices as directed plus enough additional inservices to meet requirements for CNA.
• Other duties as assigned.
