Job summary

Brethren Care Village in Ashland, OH is seeking a Resident Care Aide to join our mission-driven team. This role provides compassionate assistance with daily living activities—dressing, bathing, mobility, dining and toileting—and supports laundry, health monitoring and resident safety.

Shifts include Days, Evenings and Nights with pay from $14.00 to $15.80 per hour plus $1 Weekend, $0.75 Evening and $0.50 Night differentials; onsite presence is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
• Onsite presence required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADL) including dressing, bathing, mobility, dining, and toileting.
• Provide laundry services; handle bed/bath linen and personal laundry as needed.
• Monitor health and safety; report changes to manager and staff.
• Support activity programs and attend inservices as directed.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in drills; perform other duties as assigned.

Resident Care Aide

Full Time, Part Time or PRN | Days, Evenings and Nights

Pay: $14 - $15.80/hr (Based on Experience)

.75/hr Evening Shift Differential, .50/hr Night Shift Differential, $1/hr Weekend Shift Differential

What You'll Do as a Resident Care Aide:

• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's):
  • Dressing/undressing: ensures that clothes are clean, appropriate in season, and presentable.
  • Bathing: provides assistance with personal hygiene (i.e. shaving, dental hygiene, nail care, hair care, etc.).
  • Mobility: uses various devices that enable resident to ambulate independently (i.e. cane, walker, wheelchair, crutch, etc.).
  • Dining: meal time reminders, sets up and cleans tables as needed, transports food from buffet to table, waits tables as needed, room service as needed.
  • Toileting: assists in transfer and dressing, assists in applying incontinence devices.
• Laundry services: delivers and picks up bed/bath linen; personal laundry possible. Will come in contact with a variety of laundry chemicals
• Health maintenance/monitoring: observes and reports physical/mental changes to Manager or designated nursing staff; conducts room checks and resident rounds; monitors for safety hazards; reports resident related incidents/accidents.
• Activity Program: encourages and reminds resident of scheduled programs. Assists with activities as needed.
• Emergency Preparedness: responds to and acts appropriately in emergency/disaster situations or drills. Attends mandatory inservices as directed plus enough additional inservices to meet requirements for CNA.
• Other duties as assigned.
