Job summary

Peregrine Senior Living in Colonie, NY is seeking a Resident Care Aide to assist memory-impaired residents with daily tasks, while upholding dignity and encouraging independence. The role requires compassion for the elderly and preferred CNA/HHA/PCA credentials with at least GED and a year of caregiving experience.

We offer a full-time evening shift (3pm-11pm) with rotating weekends, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive team committed to memory-care excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CNA/HHA/PCA certification preferred or as required by law.
• One year caregiving experience preferred.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly, required.

Responsibilities

• Assist memory-impaired residents with bathing, grooming, and dressing while promoting dignity and independence.
• Ensure compliance with regulations regarding residents’ rights.
• Maintain and document proper care records.
• Report changes in resident condition to supervisor (illness evidence, behavior changes, unmet personal care needs, medication issues, unknown whereabouts).
• Promote participation in community activities.

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience

We are currently seeking an energetic and dedicatedResident Care Aide

Resident Care Aide Responsibilities include:

• Assisting our memory impaired residents to complete tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining the residents’ dignity and promoting their independence
• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights
• Maintain and document proper records of care
• Immediately report changes in resident condition to the supervisor: evidence of illness, changes in behavior, personal care needs not being met, medication issues, residents’ whereabouts unknown, etc.
• Promote and encourage residents to participate in community activities

Resident Care Aide Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant-CNA, Home Health Aide-HHA, or Personal Care Aide-PCA certification preferred or as required by law
• One year working in a caregiving capacity, preferred
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly, required
