Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Hockessin, DE is seeking a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide quality care and assist residents with activities of daily living.

You will report incidents, support residents emotionally, and participate in activity planning while adhering to policies. A HS diploma or GED and PCA program completion are required; CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days is required. Weekend and holiday availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Must wear designated uniform with name badge.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents and care concerns to appropriate staff.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Perform light housekeeping as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Communicate resident status and appointments in writing and verbally.
• Provide emotional support during move-in transitions.
