Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) at our Hockessin community. You will provide daily living assistance, support residents, and help maintain a safe, respectful living environment.

Responsibilities include basic caregiving, activity planning, and documentation; you will work closely with the nursing team to ensure quality care and timely communication. A flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Organized and able to work with all levels of personnel.
• Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Uniform required during working hours, including name badge.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assistance with daily living activities.
• Report incidents and care concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Follow policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
• Assist with housekeeping and dining/activities as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and emotional support.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and report status to appropriate individuals.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
