Job summary

TGW Logistics in Aurora, IL is seeking a Resident Automation Technician II to support automation topics across customer sites. The role requires broad electrical and mechanical skills, hands-on repair, and proactive site performance improvement.

Based onsite at Aurora, IL, the technician represents TGW professionally with the client, handles conveyors, cranes, shuttles, and related systems, and ensures safety and quality standards while pursuing KPIs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with HMI and/or SCADA experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings for diagnostics.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve customer equipment issues quickly and practically.
  • Complete work orders and associated tasks.
  • Maintain automated equipment onsite (conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, carton-opening systems).
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Optimize automation efficiency to meet KPIs and interface with the customer as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain site spare parts inventory.

Aurora, IL

The Resident Automation Technician II supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset and a proactive approach to improve the site's performance through trouble-shooting and hands‑on repair. Based at our customer sites, the Resident Automation Technician II must represent the TGW image and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.

This is an onsite position for our customer in Aurora, IL.

Shift: Friday-Monday 4:00p-3:00

What you'll be handling
  • Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
  • Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
  • Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
  • Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
  • Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory, as applicable.
What you'll need
  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, or related environments.
  • Familiarity with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics.
  • Thorough attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
