Cedarhurst of Nicholasville, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Resident Assistant at our Cedarhurst of Nicholasville community.
As a Resident Assistant, you will assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain good personal hygiene, carry out daily activities, maintain good health, and participate in community activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting residents with personal care needs such as grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
- Responding to signal lights, bells, or intercom to determine residents' needs proactively.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs and food and fluid intake/output as directed.
- Transporting and assisting residents with walking, turning, or repositioning, alone or with assistance.
- Changing bed linens, running errands, directing visitors, and answering phones.
- Assisting with laundry and housekeeping duties.
- Helping residents to and from dining areas and assisting with meals.
- Encouraging and assisting residents to participate in activities.
- Listening to residents' concerns and reporting observations to the care team.
- Promoting residents' physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing with the goal of maximizing independence.
- Understanding and following residents' Advance Directives.
- Ensuring effective communication with residents' families regarding their care.
- Working collaboratively with staff, taking direction, and engaging in conflict resolution as needed.
- Performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of experience as a resident assistant preferred.
- Proficiency in Internet browsers, Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and HR systems if applicable.
