Job summary

Great Lakes Management is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide hands-on care, both physical and emotional, as outlined in each resident’s service agreement. You will assist in the dining room, participate in activities and outings, and communicate with residents and families.

A PM shift differential and a free meal are provided, with AM/PM shift options. Requirements include six months in long-term care or assisted living and preferred Nursing Assistant credentials.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in long term care or assisted living residence (Preferred).
• Registered as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred).
• Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in the resident’s best interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs as indicated in the individualized service agreement.
• Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
• Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement.
• The Resident Assistant observes clients and reports changes in physical and emotional condition to the casemanager.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
• Complete all required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, communication book, etc.
