Job summary

Great Lakes Management (GLM) is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide hands-on care in a long-term care setting, supporting residents physically and emotionally and communicating with families and case managers as needed. You’ll assist in dining and participate in activities and outings.

The role emphasizes empathy, reliability, and the ability to follow individualized service plans, with overnight shifts and opportunities for full- and part-time work.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in long term care or assisted living (Preferred).
• Registered as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred).
• Ability to make responsible decisions in the resident’s best interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) as indicated on the individualized service agreement
• Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
• Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement
• The Resident Assistant observes clients and reports changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc. to the casemanager.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
• Complete all required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, communication book, etc.
