The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc. operates a 100-bed emergency shelter for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and homelessness.

This Resident Advocate role focuses on direct resident services, intake, safety monitoring, and maintaining shelter census and records. Responsibilities include guiding residents through shelter guidelines, coordinating with food services, and handling crisis assessments via hotline and chat.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience providing direct care in social services or residential setting with at-risk clientele.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree is highly desired.

Responsabilités

• Perform initial intake and orientation for residents.
• Educate residents about shelter guidelines and available services.
• Maintain daily census, document services, and prepare reports.
• Support food services with daily meal counts and supervise meal times for safety.
• Respond to hotline, LIVEchat and text for assessments, safety planning and referrals.
• Oversee shelter bed database and ensure accurate bed availability.
• Provide orientation to volunteers and new staff as needed.
