Job summary

Talentify is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the daily activity calendar and assist in delivering a therapeutic, person-centered program for residents in Naperville, IL. You will work under the Activity Director to ensure activities align with the mission and state regulations.

The role requires at least a high school education, 1 year in healthcare, and a valid IL driver’s license. Strong empathy, reliability, and bilingual abilities may be preferred for certain facilities.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience in healthcare or related volunteer/personal work with disabled populations.
• Knowledge of Federal and State activity regulations and ability to interpret them.
• Ability to read and write English.
• May prefer bi-lingual abilities based on facility.
• Valid IL driver’s license required.
• Be punctual and time efficient in following the activity calendar.
• Demonstrate empathy, compassion, enthusiasm, and positive interaction with residents and staff.
• Able to relate to ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
• Effective communication with residents, families, staff, and external providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback to Activity Director on meeting facility goals through teamwork.
• Lead a therapeutic, person-centered activity program to enhance residents’ quality of life.
• Follow Activity Policies, Procedures, and Federal/State regulations.
• Understand each resident’s background to create person-centered activity plans.
• Schedule daily activities reflecting resident choices and rights.
• Accommodate language needs using services and communication boards as needed.
• Conduct, monitor, and document initial and ongoing assessments related to social, medical, cognitive, and other needs.
• Document and maintain required records and calendars for resident participation and progress.
• Keep activity boards updated monthly and coordinate community events.
• Assist with resident outings and day trips, including transportation as needed.
• Work with Activity staff and volunteers to maintain schedule and continuity of care.
• Ensure activities are not canceled without Activity Director approval.
• Maintain equipment and supplies and report needs promptly.
• Update calendars and boards daily.
