Job summary

AA Healthcare Management is seeking an Activities Assistant/Aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational and social programs for residents in our Illinois facility. The role supports residents according to care plans and supervises activities to promote physical, social, and emotional well‑being.

You will collaborate with other departments, prepare activity spaces, and ensure proper supplies while maintaining resident confidentiality and dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs & quality assurance in the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior and involvement; report and chart resident progress.
• Develop and maintain rapport with other departments to ensure activities run without interruption.
• Prepare activity rooms/areas for scheduled programs; advise on equipment and supply needs.
• Assist in cleaning activity areas after functions.
• Follow care plans when providing daily activities for residents.
• Purchase department supplies, clothing and personal items for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and treat residents with dignity.
• Oversee residents in activities to promote physical, social, and mental well‑being.
• Assist in-room residents by visiting, writing letters, running errands, and helping with crafts.
