Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and level of involvement to evaluate activity progress by noting and charting resident behavior.
• Participate in community planning related to the facility’s interests and resident and family needs.
• Develop and implement activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Interview residents or families to obtain activity information.
• Involve residents and families in planning activity programs when possible.
• Involve residents and families in planning objectives and goals for residents.
• Refer residents/families to social services when needed.
• Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.
• Keep informed of economic conditions and adjust activity programs to maintain daily activities.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining ongoing quality assurance for the activity department.
• Participate in facility surveys by government agencies.
• Ensure all charted notes clearly describe services provided and resident responses.
• Complete forms and reports, submitting to the Activity Director as required.
• Others as deemed necessary by the Activity Director.
